Several pathogens such as bacteria, viruses or fungi can attack the tissue in the lung. This description is called of the lungs (pneumonia). The affected lung area swells and pulmonary blood flow is increased.

Particularly at risk infected pneumonia are :

  • Older and weakened humans,
  • Chronically patient especially cardiac patients, people with chronic bronchitis or diabetes mellitus (sugar illness),
  • People whose body’s own defense is considerably weakened,
  • Alcoholics people,
  • Children, especially chronically ill children. As note, Pneumonia in children is sometimes confused with appendicitis.
