Causes Of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder OCDThe causes of obsessive-compulsive disorder OCD are probably in organic interaction and psychological factors justified. Neurobiological findings

An obsessive-compulsive disorder / OCD is associated with impaired function of certain brain regions (basal ganglia, limbic system and frontal cortex). The interaction of these brain structures, the neurotransmitter serotonin, is involved in impulse control plays an important role. Drugs which inhibit the reuptake of serotonin, leading to an improvement in obsessive compulsive disorder. A similar result is obtained when the connection between two of the involved brain regions (basal ganglia and frontal cortex) is surgically interrupted. This suggests that there is a biologically determined susceptibility to obsessive-compulsive disorder. That an obsessive-compulsive disorder as the cause of biological factors play a role, also shows the family history : the higher degree of relationship is to a people with obsessive compulsive disorder, the higher  likelihood of developing also an obsessive compulsive disorder too.
