Acute bronchitis is an inflammation in the larger branching airways (trachea and bronchi). Depending on which section is concerned, this is also called tracheitis, tracheobronchitis, bronchitis or bronchiolitis. Bronchitis acute usually arises in connection with a cold or flu.
